Bear Lake

We met up with the Nabaum cousins for an evening at Bear Lake. It was beautiful. Ty like the waves crashing up on us on the paddleboard. We got these paddleboards for Christmas and used them all summer. Ty is very good about staying still and his favorite thing to do is throw Curious George off the paddle board and we have to go retrieve him. Good thing his Curious George doll floats!

Playing with his truck in the beach sand.

Ty loved to sit and play trucks with his cousins. They made him laugh by throwing big rocks into the water. Alex and I in the background paddle boarding. Cannon and I raced paddleboards - I lost of course!

Ty loves tents, so he had a great time playing in the tent with his cousins. It was an awesome time at beautiful Bear Lake.

Water Park

We got season passes to the water park this summer and went a few times each week. By the end of the summer Ty knew right where he wanted to go and had his favorite slides and pools. This big slide was NOT his favorite. It ended in him getting dunked and he never forgot it!

Look at his poor little hands reaching up! He and Clint got totally dunked.

Here is the poor sad boy!

Ty would play so hard every time we went the second we got in the car he was out like a light.

Enjoying a swim in the lazy river. We can't wait to go again next year!

Planting Flowers

Ty loved helping plant our flower pots this year. He would bring me a bucket and ask for a shove full of dirt then dump it on the porch. It was very helpful! He just loves being right along side us no matter what we are doing.

Just a little cute picture of Ty sweeping. He is really getting into the stage where he wants to do everything we do. He loves to sweep and anytime he sees a broom he will have a fit until he gets to help sweep too.

Veggie Garden

This year we cleared out part of our yard and planted a HUGE vegetable garden. Most everything grew despite the rocky garden spot. Ty helped by loading rocks into his dump truck. With the help of Curious George of course! I wish I had pictures of when it actually grew up. Ty would help pick vegetables and pick the entire plant or just handfuls of the leaves. He thought he was being so helpful that I couldn't stop him.

Summer Fun: Backpacking

Hiking in the Uintas. So pretty!

Clint got a wild idea that we could go backpacking with the whole family if he bought a pack goat . . . Pablo, as we lovingly call him, is the biggest goat I have ever seen! He thinks he is Clint's baby and follows him around like a dog. I will admit as crazy as it looks to be hiking up the trails with a giant goat it makes taking Ty backpacking easy. Plus the goat carries all my stuff too!

That silly goat!

Our big hiker boy! He would get out of his backpack and hike 100 yards every mile or so. He loved to climb the rocks.

We found a wild raspberry patch and Ty was super happy since blackberries and raspberries are his favorite foods. He gobbled them right up.

Ty loves tents! We have one permanently set up in our living room! So he loved to play in the tent with his tractors and Curious George.

The boys going fishin.

Ty loved to throw rocks into the lake but he didn't like the splash. George eventually took a swim too and had to dry out by the fire.

Sleepy Ty doing some evening fishing with Daddy.

Morning by the lake. Can you believe that ridiculous goat?! He refused to leave Clint's side. I still can't believe I agreed to own that giant silly goat.

The hike out. Snuggled with his blankie.

Summer Fun Part One of A Million!

So now that summer has finally wound down I am getting around to posting all the picture for the wild and fun summer we had! Last summer Ty had his heart surgery so we were basically down and out all summer so we made up for it this summer. It may take me a while to get everything up because we really did have a full fun summer.

First off the tractor show! Ty loves tractors about as much as Curious George so the tractor show was a must. Ty was in heaven. He played so hard that he fell asleep while he was walking by the end of the day. He had to touch every tractor and inspect every part of all the tractors. Every time another visitor would come near him Ty would run to the nearest tractor to "show" the people the tractor. He was just so excited he wanted everyone to get to enjoy the tractors as much as him.

Ty's New Favorite Thing

Monday night is family night at our house and Dad choose the family activity . . . shooting bows in the back pasture since it is bow hunting season of course! I thought Ty would last about 10 minutes watching daddy shoot and Mama miss the target by a mile, but I was wrong. Clint still has his little red bow from when he was a kid and Ty thought it was great. The video is super long but I think you will be able to see Ty's enthusiasm for the sport!

Ty loves his horse.

Ty thinks it is so funny when the horse nuzzles him. He thinks the horse it tickling him and he tries to tickle the horse back.

Zoo

Ty loves the zoo. His favorite animals are moneys (of course), river otters, seals, and polar bears.

There are giant legos to play with at the zoo. Ty mainly likes to just be near all the other kids playing and doesn't much care about the legos, but it is the first thing he heads to every time we go to the Zoo.

Watching for the seals to swim by.

Great Grandma Wood

We finally got to take Ty up to Northern Idaho to visit his Great Grandma Wood (Clint's Grandmother). As you can see Ty did not really enjoy the 1600 mile drive. He was so bored he even read the atlas.

Ty's first visit with his great grandma Wood. Four generations! Grandma got the biggest kick about Ty running around the nursing home. He thought all the wheelchairs and the captive audience was fantastic. We felt so blessed to get to take Ty up for a visit especially to celebrate Grandmas 95th birthday. Wow.

Ty loved his great aunt Brenda!

We ate out of fruit stands the whole way up.
We ate such yummy fruits and fruit pies and shakes the whole drive up.

Clint picking blackberries. Ty's FAVORITE food in he whole world is blackberries. While we drove Ty ate wild blackberries by the handful. he ate so many we thought he might get a tummy ache. He knows the sign for "MORE" and just said it over and over. He knew we had tons of blackberries so he refused to eat anything else the whole trip home.

Wild blackberries everywhere! We picked a few gallons and made some delicious jam.

The Dorshack dam.

We visited the bar Clint's grandparents built. It brought back a lot of fun memories for Clint.

Ty loved the pool table! There were plenty of place for Curious George (Ty's constant companion) to hide. When Clint was a little boy he would sleep on the pool table when he came to visit his Grandparents.

Blackberry smeared face.
